Bail: Post Non-Business hours, including holidays
To post bail during non-business hours for someone being held at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center:
You will need to bring:
- The exact amount of cash (or money order) for bail or a bond from a bail bondsman.
We do NOT accept personal checks or credit cards.
Do you need a bond?
Olmsted County also accepts bonds from bail bondsman approved by the 3rd Judicial District of Minnesota. To reach a bondsman, please click the link to the right. Make arrangements with them prior to arriving at the Adult Detention Center lobby.
- Go to the Adult Detention Center door in the circle drive of the Government Center.
- Enter the lobby and pick up the telephone receiver located on the wall.
- A Deputy will be available to answer your questions and collect the bail amount needed for the individual’s release.
The Adult Detention Center cannot make change, so an exact amount of cash is needed for the bail.
Sometimes the wait for a detainee can be long. In such cases, you do not have to stay. The detainee is free to use our phone to call for a ride upon release.
Note: If you are "claiming responsibility for someone's care" (i.e. giving them a ride home from jail) the driver will need to pass a breath test to prove they are sober.
