Oversize/Overweight Transport Permit

Olmsted County requires permits on all County highways if your load is considered oversized or overweight.

Gather your information 

  • Know what permit you need.
    • Is this a single trip or an annual permit?
      • See Minnesota Statutes169.80, 169.81 and posted limit/10 ton non-posted limit to apply for annual permit.
    • Have a route planned.
    • Do you have an insurance certificate? It's required.
    • Have dates and Law Enforcement escorts scheduled (if required).

Apply online for needed permits 

If your travel route includes county roads, you must have a county permit.

If your travel route includes state highways, you must have a state permit from MnDOT.

If your travel route includes a Rochester city street, you must obtain a permit from the city.

If your travel route includes an Eyota city street, you may be required to obtain a permit from the city.

If your travel route includes an Oronoco city street,you may be required to obtain a permit from the city.
