Food Stand License - Apply

There are different kinds of food stands. Each type requires a different license. The license is valid only for the current calendar year. There are several steps involved in getting approval for building and running a seasonal temporary food stand.

Gather your information 

Make sure you understand the requirements and regulations found in the:

You will also need the following information:

  • A list of all food and beverages to be served
  • Sources of all foods served
  • A list of all equipment used in the food operation
  • A description of hand-washing and dishwashing facilities
  • The watersource and method of waste disposal
  • Time period and location of the operation

Apply for a Food Service Plan Review 

Download and complete theTransient Food Service Plan Review application.

Submit the review application & fees 

Send the 2018 Transient Food Service Plan Review application, $500 deposit, and construction plans to:

We accept check, money order, or certified check payable to Olmsted County Public Health Services.

Zoning (If Required) 

If you will be operating in one location for more than 21 days in a year (including on private property), you will need to receive approval from the local zoning authority. Attach or provide a copy of that approval with the license application.

Apply for a license 

After the Transient Food Service Plan Review has approved your construction plans you may apply for the actual Food /Beverage Service License.
